On May 19, along with the precise lowering of final piece of precast box girder having a length of 36m and total weight of 170t for Package 4 of Newly Built S6 Roadway undertaken by Shanghai Engineering Company of MBEC by use of two(2) sets of 250t crawler crane, it marks the successful completion of launching total 368 nos. precast box girders for Package 4 of Newly Built S6 Roadway.

Main Viaduct works for Package 4 of Newly Built S6 Roadway comprises of left and right bound ways of which left bound carries a total length of 1.377km and right bound carries a total length of 1.341km. The project will be completed in August, 2010. In order to perfectly complete the launching task of proposed box girders, project office of MBEC formulates detailed box girder launching method statement, safety assurance measures and emergency proposal ?prior to construction and holds specific technical meeting to handle the issues arising from, and further makes ?thorough arrangements for calibrating the crawler cranes, allocating crawler cranes, and emergency dealing during construction progress etc and executes specific training and safety disclosure for site operators in order to properly implement them during actual construction.
